Monday Memo – August 10, 2015
TO: ALL STAFF
FROM: KATHLEEN
DATE: 10 AUGUST 2015
STATION UPGRADES / STATUS REPORT :
The electrical upgrade has been completed downstairs and all of the edit stations designated. About half of these editing stations are fully set up and functioning. The telephone provider, Tele-Plus, has been selected for our telephone upgrade and we are working with them on developing a timeline. We now have 6 quotes in for the new flooring and will be completing the comparisons and forwarding them to the Lanes for a decision.
OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
We all know that the Mayor and the Police Chief have been walking the streets in Salisbury and last Wednesday night they joined our anchor on the 47ABC news desk asking people to become more involved in law enforcement and community safety by reporting suspects and turning information over that may be helpful in Salisbury investigations. To support that effort, we are asking residents across Delmarva to send us tips as well. In addition to providing insights to our news effort, getting honest, law-abiding citizens to talk openly about criminal activity will serve to make our streets and our communities safer. Our promo, which started to air over the weekend, can be found on WMDT_Tips15_REV2?
COMINGS AND GOINGS
- Shawn Tedder starts with us tomorrow as a full time Master Control Operator. Please join me in welcoming him to our Team.
OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
On Saturday, 9AM – 3PM we held our Rotary drive for back packs and school supplies in front of the Kmart on Route 50 on the east side of Salisbury. While we didn’t raise as many donations as in some other years, it was respectable and the Club will make up the deficit. We plan to have 600 back packs to distribute to area students in need of assistance. The distribution will take place Saturday morning, 22 August, at the Christian Shelter beginning at 9:30. All back packs are generally snapped up within the hour so, if you know of someone who is planning on coming out, pass along the suggestion that they arrive early. Pictured here, left to right, is current Club President Audrey Orr, President Elect Marie Calafiura and yours truly.
