Police say one man was hospitalized after his car was struck by another vehicle and eventually overturned.

According to Delaware State Police, the crash happened around 11:20 a.m. Sunday when 27-year-old Easton man Marbin Lopez was traveling eastbound on Hearns Pond Road and approaching the intersection on Conrail Road.

Corporal Jeffrey Hale tells 47 ABC Lopez failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection and struck the left rear of a 2002 Dodge Ram which was being operated by 61-year-old Joseph Alton.

Police reports show the Ram overturned twice, trapping Alton inside until he could be extracted by responding fire department personnel. Alton was transported from the scene by EMS to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say Lopez was cited by troopers for failure to stop at a stop sign.
