Delaware State Police say, they are investigating a robbery that left one Georgetown man injured after being robbed in Kent County.
The incident reportedly started in Federalsburg Monday night, when the 47-year-old male victim received a ride to Dover by a male subject, whom he could not identify by name. While in the area of South DuPont Highway and Thomas Harmon Drive, the male suspect apparently requested $5.00 from the victim, which he refused. Reports say, the suspect then stabbed the victim once before removing an undisclosed amount of cash from his wallet. The suspect allegedly continued driving until they were in the area of Upper King Road and Main Street, Woodside, where the suspect told the victim to get out of the vehicle and then drove off.
Officials then say they received a call around 10:30 PM about a man saying he had been stabbed. Troopers and Emergency Medical Services responded to Upper King Road and Main Street, Woodside and reportedly found the victim with a stab wound to his left shoulder. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for the non-life-threatening injury.
Police are now searching for that male suspect who is described as between 50 to 60-years-old, around six feel tall, and weights about 180 to 190 pounds. The suspect was reportedly last seen driving an unknown pick-up truck and is armed with an unknown type of knife.
