Monday Memo – August 17, 2015

MONDAY MEMO
TO:   ALL STAFF
FROM:   KATHLEEN
DATE:  17 AUGUST 2015

ALL GONE!

The old edit bays in the news room have gone the way of……well…..old edit bays.   Work is progressing quickly and we look forward to getting our new folks in the newsroom into their own desks and work areas.  Brent has done an excellent job of keeping the chaos to a minimum and I thank all of the news people who have done a good job of being patient as we experience this temporary inconvenience for a more spacious working area in the very near future.  In other updates, we have received all of the flooring quotes for the downstairs and they have been forwarded to the Lanes for a decision.  I hope to have a timeline for you for the installation of the new telephone system yet this week.

MEET OUR NEWEST EMPLOYEE

IF YOU GET ASKED…

what that vertical green line on the left side of Me-TV video was this past weekend, the answer is that we had a keyer that required re-setting.  Special thanks to the viewers who wrote in and asked about it, Will who started researching it and Drew who came in to fix it.  Nice Team work, guys!

OUT IN THE COMMUNITY

  • This Friday is Third Friday in Downtown Salisbury.  The theme is “Dog Days”, so bring your pooches and come on down!  There will be the annual Blessing of the Animals in St. Peter’s Courtyard at 5:30 and again at 6:15 that night.  Although the primary animals are dogs and cats, over the years I have seen everything from horses to hamsters being blessed!  In addition to the Blessings, there are all the fun features you normally associate with Third Friday.
  • Lenita Wesson is participating in the annual Chefs for Habitat fundraiser.  We all know the good work that Habitat for Humanity does to increase affordable housing in our community.  If you are able to support Lenita’s efforts, here is the link:   https://fundly.com/chefs-for-habitat-lanita-wesson#comments.  Thank you for considering.
