SU class of 2019 will enjoy renovated residence halls

The freshman class of 2019 moved in on Thursday at Salisbury University. SU welcomed 1, 200 freshmen. This class has a lot to look forward to with the upgrades done to SU’s residence life. The past six years SU has invested over 57 million dollars to renovate residence halls.
Dane Foust, the Vice President of Student Affairs says, “we’ve renovated our residence halls, adding classrooms to our residence halls, recreation facilities, athletic facilities.”
One of the driving forces behind these renovations was the expansion of SU’s Living Learning Communities which is a program provided to those who are living on campus. Living Learning communities allows students with similar interests such as biology or business to live near each other.
“We really offer high quality residence life program that really takes students and takes what they learn in the classroom and engages them outside the classroom,” says Foust.
Esther Cortez, a senior at SU has seen some of the changes happen during the three years she’s been at the university.
She says, ‘if the student needs some quiet time or somewhere else to study they can just go in the classroom or they also utilize it to watch movies.”
