Wanted Laurel man arrested on drug charges

The Laurel Police Department says they have arrested a Laurel man on numerous drug charges, along with activate warrants in Sussex County.

According to police reports, on Wednesday, 43-year-old Victor Perez was a passenger in a Chevrolet, when it was pulled over by police, for an equipment violation. Police say, Perez jumped out the vehicle, and fled in an attempt to get away. This apparently led to a chase to the parking lot of a Royal Farms, at which time he was reportedly tased, for resisting arrest.

Once in custody police say, they found six bags of heroin on Perez, and a further check revealed that he had four active warrants out for his arrest.

Perez was committed to SCI in default of a $26,200 cash bond.
