Suspect sought in armed robbery of Somers Cove Market

Clarence Antonio Nicholson, 38, from Princess Anne, last know address in Crisfield

Police in Crisfield are searching for a man, who they say locked up a manager at a local store, and then robbed the establishment.

Crisfield Police say around 4:30 PM on Thursday, Officers responded to the Somers Cove Market, on Cove Street, for reports of an armed robbery. Once on scene, Police say they found that around 4:10 PM, a man walked into the store, armed with a silver handgun, and announced a robbery.

The suspect reportedly took an undetermined amount of money from the cash register, before locking the manager in the bathroom of the building. The suspect then reportedly fled.

Police say within two hours of the investigation, they were able to identify the suspect as Clarence Nicholson, who is from Princess Anne. He reportedly has has familial ties to the Crisfield area. Investigators say Nicholson, who is now wanted, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police describe Nicholson as a 6′ 1″ tall, black man, weighing 215 pounds, last seen with a black mask on, wearing gray sweatpants, and white t-shirt. Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Crisfield Police Department at 410-968-1323.
