Local store raises money for juvenile diabetes

Saturday the Cambridge Advanced Auto Parts shop held a car show fundraiser to raise money for juvenile diabetes research.
The event is in it’s second year and organizers say they’ve doubled the amount of cars in participation from 30 last year to 60 this year.
The Cambridge location is the only Advanced Auto Parts store to put on such an event, but officials say because of a personal connection to the cause it was a no-brainer.
“I have a 29-year-old that was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of six, scary situation for my wife and I. It’s a just a pleasure to be able to raise money for this cause,”said store worker and event organizer David Callahan.
The event featured live music, food and of course show level cars.
Organizers tell 47 ABC they hope to grow the event even more for next year and if anyone is interested in helping out they can contact the store and ask for either Callahan or Rusty Elliot.
