Cambridge Football Continues To Roll, Tops CR

The Cambridge SD football team continued their strong play this year when they hit the road and topped Colonel Richardson 49-14. The win improves the Vikings to 5-1, while the loss drops the Colonels to 1-5.
CR came out of the gates quickly, marching down the field and capping off a long drive with a 10 yard touchdown run by John Carter. But the Vikings would have an answer. They marched down the field and finished their drive with a 7 yard touchdown run by Emory Wongus who got it on a reverse. The score would remain the same to end the first quarter, but Cambridge found their footing in the second. Tre Lake would break off back to back huge touchdown runs as the lead would stretch to 21-6. Then after Cambridge blocked a punt, Nathaniel Lowe would find Karian Nichols in the flats for another touchdown. It looked as though the Colonels might get a score back late in the period, but their deep pass would get tipped then picked off by Dre Greene, who would take it 85 yards back the other way for the score. Cambridge would go on to close the door from there.
Cambridge returns to action Thursday when they host Kent Island, while Colonel Richardson host Nandua on Thursday.
