Bennett Boys Soccer Clinch Bayside South Title

The Bennett boys soccer team clinched the 2015 Bayside South Title Wednesday with a 5-0 win over Mardela. The win improves the Clippers to 8-1 on the year, while the loss drops the Warriors to 4-6.
The Warriors were shorthanded, but came to play in this one. Bennett would control the ball and be on the attack most the first half, firing several shots on goal, but the Warriors defense continued to come up with great save after great save. Chase Bowden would anchor the defense in goal, and did a great job of getting to several crosses into the box before they could result in a shot on goal. Midway through the first half, Will Cooledge would be taken down in the box, resulting in a PK. Charlie Kerrigan would take the shot and put it in to give his team the lead. The Warriors defense would clamp down the rest of the half though as the Clippers took a 1-0 lead into the second half. There, Bennett’s offense would get going and they would put the game away. Cermy Oneus would fire a shot in from the top of the box. Shortly after that, Louis Flores would score back to back goals to put the game away.
Bennett returns to work Thursday when they travel to Crisfield, while Mardela will face Wi-Hi on Thursday.
