Luckey No. 7 For Pocomoke Volleyball As They Top Wi-Hi

The Pocomoke volleyball team picked up their 7th win of the year Tuesday when they traveled to take on Wicomico High School and came away with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-11, 26-28, 25-12) win. The win improves the Warriors to 7-6 on the year, while the loss drops the Indians to 4-9.

The Warriors would jump out to a quick 2 sets to none lead, led by their dynamic senior Dynaisha Christian. The middle blocker controlled the net, punishing the Indians on their over sets, while coming up with several blocks defensively, and kills when the opportunities were there. But Wi-Hi showed their resolve. After dropping the first two sets, they came charging back in the 3rd. Down late, they would mount a comeback led by Brianna Branch and Robyn Joynes. Both players began to come up with perfectly placed attacks down the line, that continually fell in for kills. The Tribe would win the 3rd set to force a 4th. There, Pocomoke would settle down and close out the match. Brooklyn Johnson got it started coming up with a few consecutive aces, then Terrenae Snowden times a perfect block from the middle to give her team a commanding lead. Emely Martin would come up with the ace to end it, handing the Warriors the win.

Pocomoke returns to work Wednesday when they host Snow Hill while Wi-Hi travels to North Dorchester on Wednesday.
