Dover Police investigating shooting on Cecil Street

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating a shooting that happened late Friday night. Police say around 9:51 p.m. officers were called to the 200 block of Cecil Street for a report of shots fire. When officers arrived, they say they found a 44-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Police say they were also able to find a revolver in the area of the shooting.

Police say the victim refused to provide any information about the shooting and became disorderly. They add the victim initially refused medical treatment. Police say the victim declined to sign a waiver refusing medical treatment. He was taken to Kent General Hospital by medics. Police say when the victim got to the hospital, he continued to be belligerent with officers and staff. The victim was charged with disorderly conduct.
