Monday Memo – October 26, 2015

MONDAY MEMO
TO:   ALL STAFF
FROM:   KATHLEEN
DATE:  26 OCTOBER 2015

WHO’S GOING TO BE THE LOCAL WINNER FOR THE NOVEMBER ELECTION?

Actually, I hope you answered that question by answering “Salisbury” and/or “Wicomico County” instead of the name of an individual.  I believe that what these candidates will do to grow our community should be the key as we look at their communication style, core beliefs and their willingness to work for the benefit of all.  If you missed the Candidate Forum that we broadcast live and commercial-free last week, you still have an opportunity to educate yourselves on the candidates and key issues.  Whether or not you are a voter, if you work and live here you will be impacted by the direction these candidates take us. The entire 1 ½ hour Forum has been posted on YouTube. The election is next Tuesday, 3 November.  Vote smart!

THE SIGN-UP FORM FOR THE SALVATION ARMY Bell Ringing campaign is nearly full.  We just need one more volunteer for 4-5PM and one for 5-6PM  Our date for the event is Wednesday, 9 December, at the Fruitland WalMart.  The sign-up sheet is still posted on the bulletin board across from the time clock.

UPDATE ON LOBBY RENOVATIONS:

  • The color swatches painted on the lobby wall are colors under consideration.  A decision has not been made.
  • The wood sample leaning against the wall by the paint samples (Red River Hickory) has been selected for the main office area and has already been ordered.  The installer estimates delivery time to be about two weeks.
  • Two tradesmen will be in today (a painter and an installer for the handrail) to work up estimates for us.  We already have a couple quotes but need comparatives as a standard business practice.

FALL BACK!  With all this work going on, it’s nice to know that on Sunday we can catch an extra hour of zzzzz’s with the time change.
