After 34 Years SU Men’s Soccer HC DiBartolo Resigns

After 34 seasons of leading the way, Salisbury University men’s soccer head coach Gerry DiBartolo announced that the 2015 season will be his last. In that time, the long time head coach has complied a 409-179-60 record.
DiBartolo made the announcement following the regular season finale for the Sea Gulls Wednesday in which they defeated Wesley 2-0. During his time at SU, he has helped coach 11 All-Americans, 8 Conference Player of the Years, while earning 7 CAC Titles and 6 Coach of the Year awards.
This past summer DiBartolo took on the responsibilities of being the interim athletic director as SU, but stated that his decision to step down was not influenced by he prior choice in accepting that position. Further, he went on to say stepping down from the men’s soccer head coaching position will not factor into his decision on whether or not to apply for the AD job once his 2 year agreement as the interim expires.
SU plans to begin their search for the next head coach immediately and say they would like to have one named by February 1st. i
