Offender fails to return to Del. correctional facility
GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Delaware Department of Corrections is looking for an offender that they say walked away from a facility. The DOC says 22-year-old Anthony Long was out on an approved work pass, but did not return to the Sussex Community Corrections Center. Long’s whereabouts are unknown and unauthorized at this time. A warrant for escape after conviction has been issued.
The DOC says Community Corrections Centers like the one Long was being held at, are considered Level 4 facilities. That means that those facilities manage offenders who are in the process of transitioning back into the community. The DOC says these facilities are not secured like Level 5 prisons. Offenders at Level 4 facilities are allowed to leave for work, to seek jobs, or attend approved treatment sessions.
Anyone with information on Long’s whereabouts is asked to call (800) 542-9524 or their local police department. Long is described as a Black male, around 5’08”, and about 173 pounds. Long has brown eyes and brown hair. He was being held on robbery charges, and his last known address was in Millsboro.
