Health dept. officials investigate illnesses in connection to Accomack Co. cook off

Virginia Health Department officials are investigating a group of illnesses, after they say it may be related to a local chilli cook off, in Accomack County.

The Accomack County Health Department and the Foodborne Disease Team from the Virginia Department of Health says they are investigating a cluster of gastro-intestinal illnesses that may be related to the Chincoteague Chilli Chowder Cook Off that happened on Saturday, in Chincoteague. Officials say more information will be released after they receive test results from the Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services, the state laboratory, in Richmond.
