Monday Memo – December 21, 2015
MONDAY MEMO
TO: ALL STAFF
FROM: KATHLEEN
DATE: 21 DECEMBER 2015
HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SUCCESSFUL 2016!
This is the last Monday Memo for 2015 and we’ll be back on 4 January 2016. This has been a year of growth and many changes that go along with it. You’ve been an amazing Team and I want to thank you again for your efforts on behalf of our Stations in 2015 and look forward to working with you in 2016 as we and our Stations continue to grow and develop new products!
WELCOME ABOARD TO
Percy Fields joined our Master Control/Engineering Team last week. Percy has an Associates of Applied Science from Wor-Wic Community College where he was a Dean’s List Honoree and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, graduating with honors. He also studied Business Management. Percy has also worked as a chef at the Salisbury Courtyard/Marriott, Break Time Sports Grill and Pub and Flavors of Italy. Please join me in welcoming him to our Team.
Eric Walston has joined our Team in Master Control/Engineering as a part time Master Control Operator. Eric has ten years of experience in the film and television industry as well as a good working knowledge of computers. In addition, he has editing skills. He has a B.S. in Film and Television production from Full Sail University in Winterpark, FL. Please join me in welcoming Eric to our Team.
RENOVATIONS UPDATE
While the contracted work crews did not exactly show up on the timeline as described in my Friday memo, the painters and flooring crews did work around each other over the weekend with only minor incidents. The new color looks great on the walls and compliments the flooring quite well. I know we are all anxious to get back into our “normal” (let’s not lose sight of what that is) work areas and that should happen over the next couple of days.
A special shout-out to John who headed the Muscle Team of furniture movers (Greg, Brian and Will) and Teri Monahan who was a One Woman Coordinator on an “Errors and Omissions Patrol”.
We have an assortment of large posters that you can put in your work area, if you wish. PLEASE DO NOT TAPE OR THUMBTACK ANYTHING TO THE WALL. We have a selection of repurposed poster frames and Drew will be glad to install them at a uniform height when you are ready for that. Ditto for shelves, white boards and/or bulletin boards.
And, again, a thank you to all who kept your cool and worked as efficiently as possible midst the unavoidable chaos of a complete renovation.
MORE SPECIAL THANKS TO
- Kiyana who covered for Emily for her Bell Ringing shift (and)
- Caterine who covered for Julian for his shift

SIGNAL UPDATE: The struggle with our signal issue which took up so much time last week, appears to have originated at the signal collection point (not under our control), which is why our satellite customers were receiving intermittently garbled signals. Our signal tested clean, so there was nothing more we could do on our end. So far as we know, they got the problem fixed around noon on Friday. If you know of someone receiving our signal via satellite, please check with them to see if the signal issue has been corrected. If they are still having issues, ask them to flip to another channel which is not ours (such as public television) and then flip back to us. This should cause a re-set which should clear up the problem. If this does not work, please report it to the engineers or to me. Thanks for your assistance in this critical customer service issue.
