Warriors gets win number one in comeback fashion

The Mardela Warriors got their first win of the season, defeating Worcester Prep 54-50 at Wicomico High School in the Governor’s Challenge on Monday afternoon.
5’7 junior guard Tyler McCoy scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and backcourt mate Caleb Corbin scored 13 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, and dished out four assists. The Warriors trailed by 14 points after one quarter, but went on a 22-10 run thru the second quarter to get the game closer, and got their first lead late in the third quarter. For Worcester Prep, Owen Nally and Patrick Petrera finished with 14 points a piece.
The win is the first in the head coaching career of Mardela’s Layton Williams.
