Noonan’s Career Day Powers SU Past St. Mary’s

The Salisbury University women’s basketball team picked up a conference win Saturday when they defeated St. Mary’s 77-49. The win improves the Sea Gulls to 7-3 on the year and 3-0 in conference play.
Salisbury would be in a battle early on, as Josephine Noonan would try and give her team a lift. The sophomore would go to work on the block, finishing several baskets on her way to a career high 19 points. Still, the SU would only be able to manage a 5 point lead headed into the second quarter. There Lauren Rothfeld would find her shooting touch, connecting on a couple jumpers as the offense would finally get going. SU would take a 15 point lead into the locker room, and wouldn’t look back. Julie McLaughlin would help put the game away in the third where she poured in 8 of her 13 points on the day.
Salisbury returns to work Wednesday when they host York.
