Monday Memo – January 18, 2016
MONDAY MEMO
TO: ALL STAFF
FROM: KATHLEEN
DATE: 18 January 2016
PARKING
I hope you all found satisfactory parking during this one-day “evacuation” of lots 1 and 11. The purpose is to fulfill a requirement of ground/surface testing related to the sale of the lots. As advised last week, the lots will re-open tomorrow. If you encounter any unanticipated issues, advise your Supervisor who will pass it along to me. As indicated, when the time for construction gets closer, all of us who currently park in 1 and 11 will be reassigned different parking.
OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
Wednesday morning, the C.A.T. Club (Communications Arts and Technology Club) visited our Station. The purpose of the C.A.T. Club is to provide students in fifth grade with an opportunity to explore their artistic talents while maintaining good grades and positive behavior. Students and advisors meet twice a week to learn how to use the technology and the equipment in the studio. As part of this process, they create the slides that are displayed on their electronic bulletin board and participate in the annual Technology Media Festival.
COFFEE TIP: Now through 7 February, the WAWA across the street from the walk-in clinic on 13 south has any size coffee for $1.
RENOVATIONS UPDATE:
- We have not yet secured a vendor for the replacement doors nor the hand rail at the front entrance. Sometimes, it’s just not as easy as it sounds!
- Furniture delivery is still TBA
- We expect that last of the old furniture temporarily housed in the lobby to be moved to appropriate locations for re-purposing. If the station cannot find a use for some of the pieces, you will be advised.
- Baseboard work is coming along nicely. Next will be the video center upgrade to the new look which encompasses six televisions instead of three
- Electrical work continues on the Plaza window so that the standees will be lit at night for additional visibility and promotional value for the Station
