Police: Salisbury man breaks into dealership, steals vehicle
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is behind bars after he reportedly broke into a car dealership and stole a vehicle and numerous sets of keys.
At around 10 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to Trucks Made EZ (Pohanka) for a reported burglary. The investigation revealed that the suspect made entry to the business after hours by utilizing an unlocked door that the cleaning crew was using. During the overnight hours, the suspect reportedly drove several of the dealership’s vehicles around the lot or off the lot and back, and eventually stole a red 2019 F150 XLT and a total of 32 sets of keys to other cars on the lot.
Deputies were able to obtain surveillance video from the business to assist in the investigation. At around 1:15 p.m. that same day, detectives located the stolen F150 northbound on N. Salisbury Blvd., in the area of Naylor Mill Road. A traffic stop was conducted in the area of N. Salisbury Blvd and Centre Rd., and the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Bobby Greffin, was taken into custody. Police also located all of the stolen keys inside of the truck.
Further investigation revealed that several of the recovered keys had been stolen from Safford Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep sometime Thursday night into Friday morning, and that entry was made through an unlocked door.
Greffin was charged with second degree burglary, motor vehicle unlawful taking, and theft $1500 to under $25000. He is currently being held without bond.
