Children’s Beach House hosting three-day event in December to support children with communicative disabilities

LEWES, Del.- A non- profit organization that serves children with communicative disabilities is getting ready to host their first big fundraiser of the year, but with a twist.

The Children’s Beach House, in Lewes, said they usually have a winter gala that hosts 300 people to benefit the children they support.

But this year, they’re having to break the event into three days and they’re calling it the Winter Wonder Weekend.

The event will be taking place from December 4th to the 6th.

On the first day, people can enjoy a gala with entertainment by a well known artist.

The second night will be for kids, they can do crafts or meet with Santa Clause.

To top off the event, on the third day, they will have a happy hour with a live band.

We are told this Winter Wonder Weekend will hopefully make up for lost funds.

“Covid knocked us out, starting in March we’ve missed four of our major fundraisers this is our one and only opportunity to try and make up some ground in 2020, so it’s a pretty important event and we’re hoping we can sell all of the tickets,” Richard Garrett, the Executive Director of Children’s Beach House, said.

We’re told this year they’re behind about $200,000 dollars because of those missed fundraisers.

Space at the winter wonder weekend is limited, so make sure to grab your tickets as soon as possible on their website, https://www.cbhinc.org/.
