Lady Hawks Blasted By Pirates

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women’s basketball team was handled Saturday when they fell to Hampton 76-55. The loss drops the Hawks to 6-15 on the year.

The teams would be in a battle the first 10 minutes of the game as neither side would be able to grab much of a lead. CC Byrum would help the Hawks early on as they were right in the game. The Pirates though, then clamped down defensively, while finding their shooting stroke and took over the game. Their lead quickly swelled to double digits and would reach over 20 points in the second half as they put the game away early.

UMES returns to work on Monday when they host Norfolk State.
