ACE Center serving as warming station

In Delaware, there are several places preparing for the cold weather expected for the weekend. U.S. Senator Tom Carper visited one on Friday.

Officials at the ACE Center in Seaford are calling the facility the “day time solution.” It’s serving as a warming station.

The center has the capacity for about fifty- people, but they say all are welcome. During the day, volunteers can help visitors find employment, housing, food, and clothing, along with many other things. Senator Carper stopped by the center to encourage their volunteers to continue their efforts to serve those in need.

Sen. Carper continues, “For me it’s faith based. Matthew 25 we read what our obligation is to our society. When I was hungry did you feed me? When I was thirsty did you get me something to drink? Did you clothe me when I was a stranger in your land? Did you take me in? We have a moral obligation to the least of these in our society regardless of what our faith is.”

The Ace Center will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
