Smoking bill passes in VA House of Delegates

A bill that would make it illegal for folks in Virginia to smoke cigarettes with kids in the car under the age of eight is on its way to the Senate after passing in the House on Friday.
The bill was passed by the Virginia House of Delegates 59 to 38. Under the legislation, motorists could not be pulled over per- se for smoking in the car with children.
However, if they’re pulled over for something else and are caught in the act of smoking, they’d be given a $100 civil fine.
