Del. hunters kill record number of deer

(AP) – Delaware environmental officials say hunters killed more deer in the past hunting season than they ever have before.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said Wednesday that hunters killed 14,681 deer during the 2015-2016 season. That’s the highest number on record.
Hunters in Delaware also set records for the number of adult does and bucks with antlers killed in a season.
Wildlife Section Administrator Rob Hossler says in a statement that the state’s deer population is sustainable, which means hunters should be able to enjoy the state’s deer season for years to come.
