Easton traffic stop leads to large marijuana seizure and arrest of one

24-year-old Hannah-Leigh Farias, of Easton, Md.

A wanted Easton woman is facing charges, after Police say she was driving on a suspended license, with drugs in the car.

Easton Police say on Sunday, an Officer on patrol watched a Toyota run a red light at Dutchmans Lane and Ocean Gateway. The Officer then apparently stopped the car, and met with the driver, 24-year-old Hannah-Leigh Farias. Police say a quick license check, showed that Farias’ driving privilege was suspended, and that there was a warrant out for her arrest.

Farias was taken into custody, before Officers searched her car. During the search, Police say they found a large quantity of marijuana, and cotton balls, which are suspected to have been soaked in heroin.

After her arrest, Farias was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance not marijuana, and driving on a suspended license.

Police say the warrant was from the Talbot County District Court, after Farias didn’t appear in court on charges of making a false statement to a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was then ordered to be held at the Talbot County Detention Center on a $3,000 bond.
