UPDATE: Motorcyclist dies after injuries sustained in Barclay crash

Police say that a man has died after his motorcycle crashed in Barclay on Friday morning.
According to the Maryland State Police Centreville Barrack, at 5:57 AM on Friday, troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on Maryland Route 302, east of Barclay.
Investigators say that 28-year-old Jaime Escalante of Marydel was operating a blue 2004 Yamaha R-6 motorcycle traveling westbound on Maryland Route 302.
Witnesses say that Escalante was speeding. Investigators determined that he crossed over the double yellow line and drove onto the shoulder of eastbound Maryland Route 302.
Escalante then reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and struck a State Highway Administration sign. After striking the sign, Escalante was ejected from the motorcycle.
He was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Speed was a factor in the crash.

According to Maryland State Police, just before 6:00 AM, on Friday morning, troopers responded to Barclay Road for a crash involving a motorcycle.
Police say that the operator was traveling around 100 mph when he traveled off the roadway and into a ditch on Route 302 before striking a State Highway Administration sign.
Troopers say that the motorcyclist was then ejected from the motorcycle and that he was taken to Kent General Hospital in Dover with life threatening injuries. Barclay Road was closed for an hour.
The investigation is ongoing, but that the operator was reportedly wearing a helmet.
