Teen arrested for speeding, driving without a license in Somerset Co.

Police say that a 14-year-old was arrested for driving without a license in Somerset County on Tuesday.

According to Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack, at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a trooper stopped a black Suzuki SUV that was speeding on Route 13 in the area of Coston Road. The trooper said that he learned that the driver was a 14-year-old Virginia teen.

Also in the vehicle were reportedly three other juveniles, ages, 12, 15 and 16, respectively. Investigators say that the juveniles left their homes in Virginia without their guardians knowledge. The group then allegedly took a family member's car without permission and headed towards Salisbury.

The driver and the 15-year-old male passenger of the vehicle were referred to juvenile services for driving without a license and unauthorized taking of a motor vehicle.

All of the juveniles were transported to the Princess Anne Barrack where they were released to their respective guardians.
