Delmar crash leaves one person dead

 Delaware State Police are investigating a two vehicle crash that claimed the life of one man, on Friday.

Officials say that the crash occurred on August 4, 2017, around 6:50 PM.

Police say Mario Martinez- Jimenez, 32, was driving a Ford Expedition on Pepperbox Road. He reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign . As a result , the left side of the Expedition was hit by another truck that was operated by a man from Laurel, 75.

The Expedition was overturned on its right side after it was forced in a clockwise direction.

The other car rotated counter clock wise and came to a complete stop.

An unidentified passenger in the rear of the Ford Expedition was not properly restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name will be released after proper identification has been made by next of kin.

Both drivers and other passengers were transported to local hospitals and were treated for non life threatening injuries.

An investigation is still ongoing and charges are expected.
