Local bikers come together for vets

On Friday nights you could go a lot of places to have a drink, but if you go to one spot in particular you'll have a chance to help out a cause that's worthwhile donating to.
In Whaleyville, one bike group, the R. P. G. Mc is banding together every Friday night to run their own charity, for homeless veterans.
At the Oasis, a bar in Whaleyville on Old Ocean City Road, the R. P. G. Mc bikers run 50-50 raffles, as they have been doing since May.
Vice President George Simon and Club Member Carl Walker say the event has seen a lot of growth since May. The hope is to get to the point where they can branch out with other events such as auctions.
"This is something that we really think is going to take off, and it has started to really gain traction and take off," said Simon.
We're told 100 percent of the proceeds goes to charity for homeless vets, and that their mission statement is to help vets in need and people in need in general.
Right now they are donating within the community, but say they are in a search of a bigger organization to go through.
