Highlights from today's games.

tray honors rolling in big for salisbury university after a busy weekend. yeah david get this, we had a total of 9 games going on over the three day weekend for the gulls, they went 8-1 in those games, so a efficient weekend , and with those wins, a couple of great performances. prompting some awards to be given out, beginning on the gridiron as salisbury freshman andre boone was named the new jersey athletic conference’s defensive rookie of the week. boone led the gulls this weekend in their 35-0 win over southern virginia, posting a team high 8 tackles, anchoring that defense that got its first shutout since 2013. this season, the 5-8 frosh is from largo, maryland leads the salisbury defense with 18 tackles, including 11 solo stops and an interception. boone and the gulls are back home this saturday when they host homecoming…squarin g off against tcnj at one pm. and on the pitch, salisbury men’s soccer senior goal keeper daniel brennan being honored for his great effort this week, he takes home the capital athletic conference’s defensive player of the week award. he posted two shutouts last week and has now played 223 minutes in net for salisbury and has yet to allow a goal. he has a combined 8 saves in those two games…now they’ve experimented around with a couple of guys this year but he looks to be the primary goalkeeper as salisbury begins to get into conference play. so two awards given out, gone ahead and make it two more, a clean sweep for the field hockey team. sophomore forward catherine sweeney and senior defender jessie todd sweep the conference’s offensive and defensive awards this week. sweeney had 3 goals in 2 wins this week, and todd anchored a back line that gave up just one goal in two games as the gulls moved to 7-1 on the season, sitting as the fifth ranked team in the nation. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com here’s a look at some
