One More Rep starts petition to open micro-gyms safely in Maryland
SALISBURY, Md.- As Maryland enters phase one of reopening, a Salisbury gym is pushing for the Governor to allow micro-gyms to open under certain restrictions.
Currently under phase one, outdoor workout sessions are allowed, but One More Rep operations manager, Victoria Kent, said micro-gyms can operate just as safely.
She said unlike bigger globo gyms, small facilities have the ability to ensure that no more than 10 people are in the gym at one time and that CDC guidelines are strictly followed and enforced.
She also adds that the continued shut down of the fitness industry will result in an increase in serious health conditions and injuries.
“People that were in fitness regimens with trainers to help combat those symptoms are currently suffering because their not able to go about their regular routine,” Kent said.
Kent started the petition Wednesday and said it already has close to 300 signatures so far.
