Dewey Beach town solicitor responds to allegations against town manager

The Dewey Beach town solicitor released a statement on Thursday amid several allegations of misconduct involving Dewey Beach town manager Marc Applebaum.
The town solicitor says, "Connelly Gallagher LLP has been retained to conduct an independent investigation of the personnel complaint submitted on June 16. Max B. Walton, Esq. will lead Connolly Gallagher's effort as he and his firm are experienced in the various aspects of performing independent investigations for both public and private sector employers.
Mr. Walton has begun clearing his schedule to allow him to devote prompt attention to this important task. Because the investigation requires a thorough inquiry, no timetable for its completion is currently available."
This comes after two more former Dewey Beach employees alleged that Appelbaum would ask them to do tasks that were not apart of their job description, that Appelbaum would walk around in pajamas or dirty clothing, that he would use lewd language, treat employees rudely and use the town's car for personal travel out of state. These last two complaints are the 14th and the 15th allegation against Appelbaum.
Some of the former employees have also filed a complaint with the State of Delaware's Public Integrity Commission asking for a full investigation and appropriate disciplinary action that could include removing Appelbaum as town manager.
