LAUREL, Md. – Governor Larry Hogan held a press conference Wednesday afternoon to talk about new actions the state is taking against the coronavirus.

Laurel Medical Center has been reopened to provide an additional 135 beds, including 35 intensive care beds, to treat patients infected with the coronavirus.

In addition, Hogan outlined the four building blocks in the state’s recovery plan that must be solidly in place before any restrictions are lifted. The four building blocks include expanded testing, increased surge capacity, increased supply of personal protective equipment, and robust contact tracing.

More information on Maryland’s “Roadmap to Recovery” will be released on Friday, according to Hogan. He says this plan will lead us safely out of this pandemic and into a brighter, more hopeful future.
