Police investigating South Dover gas station armed robbery

Police say that they are investigating a robbery that happened at a gas station in South Dover on Monday morning.

According to Delaware State Police, around 9:08 p.m., on Monday evening, a man armed with a shotgun went into the Valero gas station on South Governors Avenue and approached a clerk at the counter.

The suspect then reportedly demanded cash from the register and cigarettes. Police say the employee then turned over cash and cigarettes before the suspect, along with another man who was standing just outside the door, fled westbound across South Governors Avenue. The clerk was not injured.

The first suspect is described as wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt with a mask covering his face. The suspect was armed with an unknown type of shotgun.

The second suspect was described as a man wearing a red sweatshirt. It's unclear if he was armed.
