Maryland Eastern Shore Trail Network discusses Dorchester Rails to Trails
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Maryland Eastern Shore Trail Network is working with Dorchester County officials to further map out the Maryland Rails to Trails Project.
The Eastern Shore Trail Network met in Cambridge to establish a Pedestrian Advisory committee with the goal of planning with local governments.
Dorchester County Economic Development led a walking tour as well to see the latest progress in the Maryland Rails to Trails project on the Mid-Shore.
And the Shore Trail Network is working to establish these Pedestrian Advisory Committees in other communities to make these walking trails a safe addition.
“I think continuing to convene and advocate to educate people on the value of trails and the opportunities that rail banking and rails to trails has for creating safe connections for our communities, whether it’s people trying to get to work, get to a school, get to a park, or just get to their favorite place,” says Eastern Shore Land Conservancy Land Policy Director, Owen Bailey.
