MSP: Two involved in collision smelled of alcohol

A pair of motorcycle operators involved in a Saturday night collision on Route 50 smelled of alcohol according to Maryland State Police. We’re told one of them, 59-year-old Robert Lee Hickey was arrested on DUI charges.
We’re told the collision occurred shortly after 11 p.m. when 45-year-old George Hipsley Jr. of Salisbury, hit the back of Hickey’s motorcycle near Friendship road.
Hipsley was apparently flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for injuries he sustained. Police say Hickey was treated on scene.
Maryland State Police tell us Hickey was arrested for DUI and was transported to the MSP Berlin Barracks.
We’re told Hipsley’s DUI investigation is ongoing.
