Dorchester Co. Leadership Holding Meetings for Strategic Plan
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – Dorchester County leadership is looking for feedback across every community in the county, from Church Creek to Cambridge to Hurlock. They want the public’s feedback as they continue to draft the county’s long term strategic plan.
County leadership met with South Dorchester residents in Church Creek Monday night, and are planning to speak with residents in Cambridge, as well as East New Market.
“How do we know how our constituents want us to handle the county business? That’s the biggest thing right now. And that’s and that’s what we’re getting. We’re getting their decisions, their ideas, their thoughts on how we’re handling some things. And so that we’re just trying to get it to make it work,” says County Council member, Rickey Travers.
We met with two of the consultants behind the strategic plan, and how exciting it is to get perspectives far and wide across Dorchester County.
Frank Grossman is one of the consultants for the Strategic Plan and he tells WMDT, “This is their plan. They are the residents. This is the plan is geared for we want to be as accessible to all parts of the community. And so we want to take these meetings to where folks are to make it easy for them to get there.”
Organizers tell WMDT, the public sentiment has been positive so far. County leadership as well as the consultants are hoping to continue that momentum through the week.
“There’s like a growing sense of optimism in Dorchester County, and that that’s something that that feels great. Right. And so ask people to be part of it. Join in. Right. Make their voice heard, be part of the process,” says Frank.
The final Strategic Plan Meeting will take place at the East New Market Volunteer Fire Department at 4020 East New Market Bypass at 6 P.M.
