Federalsburg Church Fire Ruled Arson, Reward Offered

FEDERALSBURG, Md. – Authorities with Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have determined a fire at the Church of Nazarene in Federalsburg in August was intentionally set.

Now, the ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000 leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.

On August 5, firefighters responded to the Church on Houston Branch Road after a passerby reported the fire.

It took 60 firefighters around 70 minutes to control the flames.

No injuries were reported, however, the fire caused an estimated $350,000 in damage to the structure and its contents.
