Salisbury Zoo’s new female red wolf introduced to male wolf
SALISBURY, Md. – This past Thursday, the Salisbury Zoo’s new female red wolf Shiloh was introduced to the zoo’s male, Scout.
7-year-old Shiloh came to the zoo from Rhode Island. We’re told she was chosen because she was a good geneic match with Scout.
The red wolf is an endangered species that once was classified as extinct in the wild. Today there are only 12 red wolves left in their natural habitat. With this breeding program, the hope is some may be reintroducted into the wild.
