Agencies Respond to Overturned Tractor-Trailer in Selbyville

SELBYVILLE, Del. – Multiple agencies responded to an overturned tractor trailer in Selbyville in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

At 1:21 a.m. on Jul. 22, the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company responded to a tractor trailer accident after being requested to the scene by Delaware State Police. Initial reports indicated that the trailer was actively leaking fuel.

Due to the nature of the incident, Millsboro Fire Company and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control dispatched their HazMat response team. Following a thorough assessment, fire personnel confirmed there was no active leak from the tanker. Emergency crews remained on scene for an extended period while the vehicle was stabilized and recovery operations were completed.

One patient was reportedly evaluated on scene by Selbyville Emergency Medical Services.
