Pocomoke City Police Chief announces retirement

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Pocomoke City’s Police Chief Arthur “Rudy” Hancock” has announced his retirement.

Chief Hancock served over 33 years in public safety, including in police and corrections.

He started his law enforcement career with the Crisfield Police Department before transitioning to the Somerset County Detention Center for a time.

In 2013 he began his time with the Pocomoke City Police Department before being promoted to chief in 2021.

Hancock is looking forward to his next career with Benelli USA.

His last day on the force will be September 1st.
