City Minute: Salisbury Celebrates the Fourth of July

SALISBURY, Md. – In this week’s City Minute, WMDT’s John Trout and City of Salisbury Communications Director Jordan Ray discuss how the City of Salisbury is celebrating the Fourth of July, in addition to some other events returning to Salisbury this summer. 

Red, White & Boom will be once again be putting on the City’s fireworks extravaganza this year! The show is set to take place at James M. Bennett High School, starting at 9:15 p.m. Come out to enjoy the light show, food, and community celebrating. It’ll be a blast!

The following day, the City will host America’s Picnic at Poplar Hill Mansion from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is a free community gathering where neighbors can bring their favorite dish to share all while enjoying Salisbury’s history.

With July under way, summer is officially in full swing — and there’s a great opportunity for kids over the next several weeks. Salisbury’s Game On! series has kicked off, giving kids a community place to hang out Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Activities, free meals for those under 18, and weekly water events and Lake Street and Doverdale Parks in partnership with Wicomico County Public Schools.
