Pocomoke River State Park Swimming Pool Closed for Summer

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Maryland State Parks has announced that the Pocomoke River State Park’s swimming pool will not be open to the public this summer.

The announcement comes after officials say they have not received enough qualified lifeguard applications to staff the pool for the season.

“While we know the pool is a favorite for many visitors, certified lifeguards are required for safe operation,” Maryland State Parks said in a message posted to social media.

Other activities at Pocomoke River State Park will remain available, including hiking trails, camping and fishing on the Pocomoke River, and wildlife viewing.
