Donate to Life Month Flag-Raising Ceremony

Salisbury, MD – Tidal Health held their annual flag raising ceremony to celebrate organ and tissue donors. Family members of those heroes attended the ceremony, honoring them.

It’s a tradition every April to raise the flag in celebration of the National Donate Life Month… and this year’s theme is “leave a legacy.” The flag represents a symbol of hope, generosity and the gift of life.

“When we celebrate raising the flag, it reminds all of us about the gift that someone gave.” Director of Community Outreach, Aeesha Johnson said. “Nationally, there are over 100,000 people waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Here in Maryland, we have over 2000 people that are in need of a life saving organ. So, when you are looking at the flag, it’s another reminder of what it really means about those who need a second chance.”

Just one tissue donor can help save up to 70 patients. To register to be an organized tissue donor, visit www.infinitelegacy.org.
