SALISBURY, Md. – Join us in Downtown Salisbury for a special Third Friday as we celebrate 100 years of Salisbury University (SU)!
This month’s event, celebrating the SU Centennial, is the first Third Friday of the year and honors the rich history, traditions, and bright future of SU with a fun-filled evening in the heart of the city. SU POMS will bring the energy, spirit, and school pride to Downtown Salisbury as the SU Pom Squad takes the stage! And, catch SU’s beloved mascot, Sammy the Seagull, out and about spreading school spirit, taking photos, and bringing the fun to Main Street.
Plus, enjoy music by MoneyGrab, Late Dues, & Medium Wave Jay! From high-energy sets to smooth, crowd-moving vibes, these local acts are bringing a mix of sounds that will keep Downtown Salisbury buzzing all night long.
On Saturday, celebrate our planet with an Earth Day Volunteer Litter Clean-Up, sponsored by the City of Salisbury & Wicomico Clean. Help make our community a cleaner, greener place! Clean-up supplies will be provided. However, volunteers may be assigned to nearby parks and areas, so having available transportation is recommended.
Volunteers will meet at City Headquarters, located on 115 S. Division St., at 10:00 a.m. Parking is available at the City Garage or the lot between Camden Street & Circle Avenue. If you are planning to attend, RSVP at wicomicomdclean@gmail.com.
Also happening in recognition of Earth Day is Earth Day at the Salisbury Zoo, on Saturday, Apr. 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Earth Day is an annual, free event open to the public that promotes an appreciation for nature and understanding of the environment. On average, more than 2,000 people come out to the Salisbury Zoo for Earth Day!
The day is full of educational resources, environmental demonstrations, zookeeper talks, activities, and earth-friendly exhibiting organizations. Show your support of the Salisbury Zoo — and the planet — by being part of this fun, educational event!
