Samaritan Shelter to host food drive for Salvation Army
SALISBURY, Md. – In Salisbury, volunteers at the Salvation Army Lower Eastern Shore are gearing up to distribute thousands of pounds of food to people in need.
The nonprofit has partnered with the Maryland Food Bank to provide free food for families in need at Worcester and Wicomico Counties throughout the month of March.
On Wednesday, they will begin to distribute food at the Samaritan Shelter in Pocomoke City at 10:30 AM.
Members of the Salvation Army Lower Eastern Shore say over 3,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, meat and water will be on site.
“Our goal is to help alleviate the barrier that some families have to feeding themselves, to feeding their children,” said Captain Matthew Trantham at the Salvation Army Lower Eastern Shore.
Trantham says there will be several distribution dates throughout the month of March. For more information, click here.
