MONDAY MEMO
TO: ALL STAFF
FROM: KATHLEEN
DATE: 24 OCTOBER 2016
WELCOME TO OUR TEAM

Welcome aboard to Rebecca Bennett who joins our News Team today as a Producer. She comes to us most recently from the Hyattsville Today in Hyattsville, MD, where she determined editorial coverage, developed and managed web strategy and media campaigns. Prior to that, she was Senior Editor/Web Manager for the Hyattsville Life and Times, Freelance Producer for WJLA and Writer/Associate Producer for News Channel 8 in Arlington. She also has Master Control and Directing experience in her background. Please join me in welcoming her to our Team.
OUT IN THE COMMUNITY

Sunday afternoon (noon to 3PM), Emily, Michelle and Lissette (missing from picture) hosted a “Treat Street Table” event for the little kids at Perdue Stadium. They, plus Emily’s husband, Nick, and their two adorable little girls passed out treats and I played photographer. Hundreds of kids, with their parents, participated in the fun-filled afternoon in a safe Halloween party. If you missed the promo that Emily did with Froggy 99, here it is: WMDTiHeart TreatStMarilyn 30

If you receive a telephone call about participating, advise them as to why you cannot participate. If you receive paperwork, return it to Nielsen with an explanation and advise your Department Head. In advance, thanks for your cooperation.
CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations to our News, Engineering and Studio Crews who, despite numerous challenges, brought the live and very successful launch of the Antares rocket from Wallops Island Monday night into the homes of our viewers.
STATION FREEBIES!
• Congratulations to Larry Fortino and Carmen Frazier, winners of last week’s drawing for the blue and white Beer Cave T-shirts from Gordy’s Tiger Mart. This week’s Station Freebie is a Crime Watch Daily Flashlight/screwdriver combination. You can sign up for your chance to win on the Station bulletin board across from the time clock. Per usual procedure, the drawing will be Friday morning and the winner announced in the next Monday Memo.
COMICON ON THE PLAZA

Comicon was a popular night for 3rd Friday on the Salisbury Downtown Plaza last week. We had our Superhero standees as part of our table display. Sarah and Emily worked the table and the crowd as folks dropped by to take selfies with the standees. Finally, the winds just got to be too much and they had to take the standees inside.
THERE IS ONE HALLOWEEN SPECIAL ON 47 ABC FOR THIS WEEK
• Friday at 8 = “It’s a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”
47 ABC WANTS TO WISH A HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EVERYONE ON DELMARVA!
• Yes, that’s right! The Good Morning Delmarva Birthday Club on 47 ABC wants to recognize everyone’s birthday, starting next Monday. Here is the spot that starts airing today: WMDTBirthdayClub 15
And here’s the challenge: we need birthdays and we need them now. If you could enter your birthday and those of your family, friends, in-laws, out-laws etc. (you really should have their permission and it is critical that you get the date correct), it will help get us started. You are not eligible to win, but we can still list your birthday. In this particular contest, your immediate family members are eligible to win.
