tray..big helping of field hockey being served up tonight.. yeah david all you can eat! regular seasons coming to an end, playoffs on the verge of getting underway. there were still a couple of scores to settle. including a huge matchup in hockeytown, eastern shore. and undefeated kent island squad stormed into pocomoke tonight as they squared off against the defending state champion warriors for the bayside crown. quiet first half, celina kaufman would get a shot off for the bucs, but it would be turned away by dom farrace, we would go to the half with no score on the board. second half opens up and just four minutes in, kaufman gets a stick on the cross to give her squad the lead. 1-0 still with with 26 minutes remaining. pocomoke using that time to their advantage, mckenzie mitchell finds kasey lee, lee fires one to tie us up at one with 22 minutes left. bucs looking to respond, sydney holtzner with the shot, farracce turning in another spectacular save to keep us tied. cut it allll the way to under two minutes to go, bucs get the corner, goes to and abby carpenter and she is able to lift one just over the head of the keeper. what a game, kent island remains undefeated and they are your 2016 bayside champs with a 2-1 win. after two years of falling in this game to pocomoke, here’s carpenter on finally taking the title. it was so nice, definitely a heartbreaker our first two years, but it’s a motivator everytime and if we come back and they’re back, its gonna be the same thing. a fight til the end. a little less dramatic, still the same game in laurel as the bulldogs hosted delmarva christian, early on royals keeper mckenzie waide had her hand, or foot, or leg guards all over this game. turning away many laurel shots to keep things scoreless. the lady ‘dawgs would eventually find their stroke, the senior tyanna handy doing it on her own! settles and fires one from inside the circle that goes…laurel pulls thru for a 2-0 win. boys soccer action tonight defending state champ indian river visiting seaford champs get on the board first, johan cordoba gets the deflection. little later, off the corner arturo salas sneaks into the box, gets a foot on, just gets over the keeper with that tap to make it 3-nil road team. blue jays down but not out. great solo effort here from antonio ambrosino to cut that defecit dow da bit, but the champs, are the champs…beauttiffull l header there by andrew white. ir moves to 11-1 on the season with a 6-1 win tonight. and of course you know i had to throw a little football into this block, salisbury running back ryan kolb was honored by the new jersey athletic conference this morning as he takes home his first ever offensive player of the week honor. kolb had a career day on saturday as you see…..he only 14 times, but he came out with a career high 184 yards and that touchdown in the gulls win over kean. salisbury still sits tied for first in conference with a major date at christopher newport, this coming saturday. that’s it for sports. good news is just ahead- keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc! catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com hairstyles brought to
